What is a vaginal pessary?

A vaginal pessary is a silicone medical device that is fitted and inserted into the vagina. They are individually prescribed and can be easily self-managed.

Pessaries can be used to:

  • reduce symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse

  • reduce urinary incontinence

  • prevent prolapse/or prolapse worsening

  • improve bladder and bowel emptying
